Swayampurna Maharashtra Residential Roof Top Smart Solar Scheme
Information and Eligibility
The primary objective of this scheme, jointly implemented by the Government of Maharashtra and the Government of India, is to provide relief to residential consumers on their electricity bills by installing Solar Roof Top Systems.
1. Key Features of the Scheme

2. Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this scheme, consumers must meet the following conditions:
Existing Consumer: The applicant must be a current and active consumer of MSEDCL (Mahavitran).
Connected Load: The sanctioned electricity load must be at least 1 kW.
Electricity Consumption: The average monthly electricity consumption for the past year (October 2024 to September 2025) must be less than 100 units.
No Arrears: There should be no outstanding dues on electricity bills.
No Prior Subsidy: The consumer's family must not have previously received a subsidy for any rooftop solar scheme.
National Portal Registration: Registration on the Central Government’s National Portal for Solar Rooftop is mandatory.
3. Subsidy and Cost Breakdown (Per kW)
Assuming an estimated system cost of ₹50,000 per kW, the distribution is as follows refer attached image
4. Vendor Responsibilities & Additional Documents
After completing the on-site installation, the vendor is responsible for uploading the following additional documents on behalf of the consumer:
1)Caste Certificate (if applicable).
2)Bank Account Details and a copy of a cancelled check.
3)Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Undertaking: A guarantee letter on a ₹500 stamp paper, accepting responsibility for the maintenance and efficiency of the system for 5 years from the date of commissioning.
5. Required Standard Documents (06)
The following six documents are mandatory for submitting an application:
1) Electricity Bill: A recent copy showing the consumer number and sanctioned load.
2) Proof of Ownership/Possession: Property tax receipt, Sale Deed, Index-II, 7/12 extract, or Possession Certificate.
3) Proof of Identity: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Voter ID.
4) Proof of Address: Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, or Electricity Bill (if address is mentioned).
5) Site Photographs: Clear photos of the installation site (roof and meter).
6) Signed Application/Consent: RTS application form from the National Portal/MSEDCL, net metering consent, or declaration.
